s1 is a Scottish media business operating in the digital arena generating annual revenue of more than £10m.

Launched in 2001, s1 is a standalone division of The Herald & Times Group, which also owns The Herald, Sunday Herald, and Evening Times newspapers. Since our launch we have seen enormous growth in traffic and profitability.

Newsquest, our parent company, is the second biggest publisher of regional newspapers and websites in the UK. And Gannett, which owns Newsquest, is the largest newspaper group in the USA (Gannett publishes USA Today, the largest circulation newspaper in the US).

We specialise in collating and presenting information in a way that's relevant, timely, accurate and useful to people living and working in Scotland. We're committed to ensuring that our customers and users benefit from products and services that are not only market leading, but truly world class.

We operate in a number of different media marketplaces including recruitment, property and training.

Each month our websites attract over 1 million visits. And 90% of our users live, work and spend in Scotland.

There are about 50 of us in total, based in offices in Glasgow, Aberdeen and London.

s1 may be part of a major media company, but it's a small, friendly unit. We work in an open workplace and there are no departmental barriers.

As well as Sales, Marketing, Editorial and Customer Service departments we have several web production teams who are constantly developing new features and services. All of our sites are developed and maintained in-house.
